Android – Volume Buttons used in my application

You need to capture all actions:

        switch (keyCode) {
        case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_VOLUME_UP:
            if (action == KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN) {

            if (action == KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN) {

        default:
            return super.dispatchKeyEvent(event);
