Can PNG image transparency be preserved when using PHP’s GDlib imagecopyresampled?

imagealphablending( $targetImage, false );
imagesavealpha( $targetImage, true );

did it for me. Thanks ceejayoz.

note, the target image needs the alpha settings, not the source image.
