Steps for adding external jars in IntelliJ IDEA:
- Click File from the toolbar
- Select Project Structure option (CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + S on Windows/Linux, ⌘ + ; on Mac OS X)
- Select Modules at the left panel
- Select Dependencies tab
- Select + icon
- Select 1 JARs or directories option
