git gc –aggressive push to server?

2012: I know that GitHub will run git gc periodically, as the GitHub support mentioned in this thread.

Since 2012 (up to 2023):

I don’t know if you can force it yourself, though.
I didn’t see such a service in the GitHub hooks.

As illustrated by “How to remove a dangling commit from GitHub?“, no git gc seems to be ever performed on remote GitHub repository.

That means any remote repository cleanup would be the result of an explicit request to GitHub Support.
