Missing config header
Just add [mysqld]
as first line in the /etc/mysql/my.cnf
file.
Example
[mysqld]
default-time-zone = "+08:00"
Afterwards, remember to restart your MySQL Service.
sudo mysqld stop
sudo mysqld start
