I use Xcode6 GM. I encountered the same problem. What I did was to go to Build Settings -> Build Options. Then I changed the value of the “Compiler for C/C++/Objective-C” to Default Compiler.

Restarting the simulator fixed the issue for me.
You can add a launch screen file that appears to work for multiple screen sizes. I just added the MainStoryboard as a launch screen file and that stopped the app from scaling.
