Use the WScript.Shell instead, because it has a waitOnReturn option:

Set wsh = VBA.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
Dim waitOnReturn As Boolean: waitOnReturn = True
Dim windowStyle As Integer: windowStyle = 1

wsh.Run "C:\folder\runbat.bat", windowStyle, waitOnReturn
