Android, canvas: How do I clear (delete contents of) a canvas (= bitmaps), living in a surfaceView?

Draw transparent color with PorterDuff clear mode does the trick for what I wanted.

Canvas.drawColor(Color.TRANSPARENT, PorterDuff.Mode.CLEAR)
