I would consider a CSS hack with font-size:

  font-size:0;
}
.entry * {
  font-size:initial;
}

<p>&nbsp; somethin here</p>
Enter (this will be hidden !!)
<div class="subhead">another text here</div>
</div>

Another idea with visibility:

  visibility:hidden;
}
.entry * {
  visibility:visible;
}
