The imshow()
function with parameters interpolation='nearest'
and cmap='hot'
should do what you want.
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np
a = np.random.random((16, 16))
plt.imshow(a, cmap='hot', interpolation='nearest')
plt.show()
