Turns out the extensions are stored under %USER%\.vscode\extensions. Deleting that gets rid of them.
For Windows :
%USER%\\.vscode\extensions
(or)
%USERPROFILE%\.vscode\extensions
Location of extensions for Linux/MAC:
~/.vscode/extensions
