Use this code in your activity for hiding/animating your view:

Animation bottomUp = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(getContext(),
            R.anim.bottom_up);
ViewGroup hiddenPanel = (ViewGroup)findViewById(R.id.hidden_panel);
hiddenPanel.startAnimation(bottomUp);
hiddenPanel.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);
