Having the same issue here (even a year later). Under linux you have to do the following: Look for the file /usr/lib/ruby/1.9.1/webrick/config.rb and edit it. Replace the line :DoNotReverseLookup => nil, with :DoNotReverseLookup => true, Restart webrick and it’ll work like a charm 🙂
I was never able to get any of these answers to work for me, but this is the command that I used to make it work for me. This way you don’t need to use install_name_tool every time you update your mysql sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib /usr/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib
At first you need to create new app rails new my_app then switch folder to /my_app and then you can do rails s you have to read your logs
